Pregnant Thoughts

Realised as I sat chewing on a carrot that a diary does not need to have a narrative thrust. It does not need a beginning (which isn't the same thing as a start) or an ending (which isn't the same thing as an end). It is simply suddenly there, and then suddenly not. And in between the start and the end it ... accumulates, growing into something you did not expect, like an unplanned pregnancy.
